I didn't like much about the new tv version....good looking actors and all, but I couldn't STAND how incredibly MAUDLIN everyone was!
This is supposed to be a story about unfailing optimism in the face of bad times, but everyone walked around looking like they were gonna start crying any moment!
I did like the Sherriff, though...he was wonderfully evil and nasty.

MAUDLIN - agreed. Probably because the writers messed up the original story too much. lol For some reason I had an easy time writing the characters of this version. While they were "maudlin" they had good chemistry together. I stopped writing when they killed Marian. Though I planned a finish to my story, I lost steam. Still, it's one I hope to finish someday ...
