It's that time again for the Tour de France. Today is the 2nd stage race. Each year the route differs. I hope to have an update for you shortly on this year's tour. Check it out on the VS channel if you get it.

Ugh! I can't believe I missed the first stage! It began in London this year--in the land of Charles Stuart! ;D
From London, the tour took a Ferry to northern France where stage two covered the historic flatlands.
Some of the Chateaus shown were stunning. One helicopter shot showed an actual castle with moat intact. One commentator joked that evidently the Barbarians never learned how to swim. From researching the 16th/17th centuries for my fanfic, it would make perfect sense why a moat would keep invading armies out--the waste was dumped there.
