Hi all. Would you know if InSight Studio and/or its official distributor for YB ships halfway 'round the world? Also, for the Malaysian member (ack, I forget your username, sorry >,<), how did you get your YB DVDs? Thanks.

I just emailed Lillian at insight studios, then got forwarded to Michelle. It seems they are no longer providing DVD's. This is the email I got:

Hi Monica,

We used to fill orders for the DVDs, but our policy has changed.

Maybe you can spread the word if you run into anyone else who says to contact us for DVD copies? Also, I believe Sony Pictues owns the rights to release the show on DVD, you might express your interest to them. And if you do successfully (& legally) find copies of the shows, please let me know how so I can pass it on to other people who email me for them.

I always thought they were a pretty pathetic organization! I can't believe they don't even know and are expecting us to get them the information for their dvds! Is that a bit over the top? Or am I just projecting my own experience to this?

@ sue: I should've reworded that, I had originally asked two questions, as follows:

1) Is Insight Film open to shipping YB DVDs to a fan who doesn't form their original target audience (which would be Western)? The DVDs don't seem to be sold in places like Amazon or eBay, at least not these days.
2) There was a Malaysian fan of YB here whose name I forget, and to her I direct my second question of how she got her DVDs, because it's my understanding that she's based here in Malaysia and not in the US, which would make it a bit farther to ship to as compared to the Philippines. (Man, I hope I got my pronouns right at least...)

Also, the news shared by thedaringhattrick makes me sad. It seems they don't really care much about the show anymore.

My only answer was that if Insight still had the rights to sell the DVDs, they would certainly be willing to ship them to anyone who would pay the price plus shipping, and the shipping might be where the cost would go up.

When we bought them in the past they asked where they were shipping them to so they could adjust the price to include shipping cost. But with Insight not selling them, it makes a good point to research who's to contact. Thanks for all the information, everyone.

Um, I don't know if it's me you're referring to, oscardjyardjeyes, but I don't have any YB DVDs. I taped all the episodes I have, and I managed to recover my tapes after painstaking effort - my mum misplaced them for a while, so I nearly lost them - and I'm still missing the first three episodes, and part of the last episode. I did, however, manage to see the episodes on YouTube... though those episodes that I watched there do not have the extra scenes. My tapes have them because they were never cut out of Malaysian broadcasting - lol, finally my local TV channels did something right...

I am not allowed to order things online from other countries and such, and anyway, by the time I converted the cash needed I realized that I was very, very short on funds. Not that I wouldn't love the DVDs... maybe if I start working some day...

@ RK9: Oh, so you taped your episodes. I thought you had YB on DVDs. Can I just say I envy you right now for at least having been able to view and tape the show? Thanks for the info!

I swear, once I find a job I'm getting me these DVDs... if I figure out how to order them, of course. XD;;;

You can watch them on YouTube, ya know. Each episode is split into parts, but for people like us who don't get the eps, it's a small matter compared to not being able to watch the eps at all...

Got it. I've found them on YouTube again yay! I guess I got my tags wrong, although yeah it seemed I was being blocked by my IP as well since I couldn't log on to YouTube at all for a while.

Wow... I had no idea they were on youtube at all... that's too bad about them not selling the DVDs anymore. They made a killing off of those that bought them, me included. I could have bought the whole Voltron series with what was paid for the YB series haha. Alas, worth every cent.
