Here's a site for those wanting a bit more than the screenwriting tips given on the ST site. I'm posting this here because it's another link. www.screenwriting.info/

Sorry, I don't. Other than the "short" on the site, the story was published in book format. You may be able to find it at the library.
On a side note, I haven't looked into this yet, but library of congress is supposed to have quite a few books online. Hmm. I wonder how that works.

To explain these a bit to anyone following the links. There are four stages of writing for this one story. The links above are for the first submission. One winner will be chosen from the first round for ALL the writers to base their second submission on ... and so on and so on for the third and fourth installments. The format requested is SCREENPLAY. It's a bit different than reading fanfics (to say the least). By the way, you are welcome to browse any of the other entries while on that site. Dani, you'd cringe at the lack of descriptors used. Maybe you better not look. I undid all you coached me on in just one screenplay segment! I look at my submissions and think, 'Gee, I could have done better in places.' But once you submit, there's no editing.

Well... there's some 'discussion' about possible 'cheating' cuz the way they had it, you can delete a scene...and write a new...as long as you only have two ACTIVE scenes...some ppl got 3rd and 4th revisions before close time.
Upset a few ppl. Its under the 'why some scenes won't make the final' thread.

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. A writer should have their stuff down before submitting. If some want to test those waters, it's a bad habit to form. It's also risky. I doubt any of those writers will make it into the final five. I'll put my thought energy to better use by trying to make my next entry a little better. In reality, it's those who can think on their feet and produce a top-notch submission on short notice that will stand out above the others. I would hope a winner is chosen not only because they have a great screenplay, but also because they exhibit the spirit of the challenge. Truthfully, I got cross-eyed after reviewing a few entries. They all started to look the same. (BTW, I will continue to make "certain" entries a priority to get to ... . So I stopped reading and decided to wait for the judges to pick the final five. Then I'll let my wheels start turning on the next round.

yeah, one poor person, the format got screwed in transition, it was all stuck together. I started to see stars... I just looked at the schedule, and round 3, IF I participate, it will have to be that last day, as we are leaving town next Thurs afternoon and won't be back till late Sun. *pulls hair*

I'm sitting round two out...
I lost my paycheck *and found it* but due to some really bad PMS, my brain isn't functioning correctly.
So, writing right now would be fatal to reputation.
I'm gonna go find some chashews and chocolate now.

I'm really having trouble with this one. It will be a miracle if I get one submission in. Thanks, I'll check it out later. Busy day.
