Hey!
I know of at least one other memeber here whose signed up to participate.
Just wondering who else is signed up, to either review the submissions or take part in the writing?
Post a reply with your sn, and what you will be doing.
I'm jacquelineroget other there, and I'm hoping to actually write and submit it.

There is another thread for this contest under "Advertising" because it has a link in the post. With that said, yes, I did sign up there ... lots of prizes for just opening an account, why not? Contributions can range from just opening an account, writing scenes, reviewing submissions, to voting. Top reviewers can also win prizes. Hmm. The possiblities are certainly varied. But if you're going to register, you better hurry up. The deadline is tonight (midnight, I think). I'm not sure if I'll write. I'll see if the mission scenes inspire me. The topic in the lead, The Guardian of Forever, isn't that familiar to me. But the Kirk vs. Picard theme does give me some ideas. Hey, it would be an experience just to participate in something so huge. Oh, and I'd be "dr.jean" on that site. LOL. Don't ask where I got that sign in, 'cause I'm not really sure. JeanTre16/dr.jean

ST regular fan site has a database on all their shows. Do a search on that show and details will come up.

The contest has begun.
Rules are very specific and will be a challenge--7,500 characters, including spaces, written in screenplay format (This alone would be an intimidating requirement if they hadn't attached a "how to" file enouraging all to do their best).
The first scene is outlined; you fill in the details.
Submissions are due by 3pm this coming Monday.
How hard could that be? LOL. Any takers?

I'm not sure where they exactly posted the official mission #1 scene. Some people on the site were frustrated they couldn't find it. I was ... pushing buttons and clicked on " submit" to see what the entry posting would look like, and THERE IT WAS ... the #1 Mission assignment. Of course I didn't submit anything; I was just curious. Hey, what can I say, being a mod. makes me curious about what buttons do on web sites. ;D

Yeah, I found it...
it said MAX was 7,500 though, I saw no Min...
I printed out the 'how to' thing and the mission 1 scene to look at.
I guess no dialogue w/ Picard and crew is in this scene, just Kirk's crew.
I got an interview tomorrow, but I will try to look at it tonight and after I get home tomorrow...
I should be ready to type it up by Sat...Sun at latest...
I'm excited...this should be fun.

I posted a site link for more in-depth screenwriting how-tos in the ST contest thread under "Advertising." It's a great resource and probably more than you ever wanted to know.

I've gotten my rough draft done. 7100 characters! That gives me high hopes of making that 7500 character limit. ;D Now, where's that "how to write a screenplay" file? I made a promise I'd at least submit for round one, just for fun.
