I know YB is Canadian, and I love them for it. But Edmonton, Canada did not win the Stanley Cup for Hockey, the NC Hurricanes did! Yipee! (NC is my home state, currently.)

As in ice hockey! The Carolina Hurricanes beat the Edmonton Oilers 3-1 in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals to make history and bring the first major professional sports championship to North Carolina.

All i know is the philadelphia eagles will never win the stanley cup. LOL, yeah, I guess they wouldn't. But, the Philly Flyers last played in the Stanley in 97 (but lost). Their last win was a two year winning streak in 74 and 75. Ok, I'm officially hanging up my hockey skates with this one, I'm beginning to frighten myself! (It's amazing what you can find on the web)

Actually, I hate the Dvils and the Cats. Daughter spent 2 years at Uof A and 2 years at ASU. I follow the DBacks the Oakland A and the Raiders. i used to listen to the A's farm team when I was a kid (The A's were in KC) and the Raiders since I was knee high to a grasshopper. I was a Freshman when Wayne Valley Jr was a senior (Wayne Valley Sr was one of the original founders of the Raiders)

On the note of baseball, I'm off to see the Durham Bulls tonight. No championship or other, just got boxed seats and friends to enjoy it with.
And no, I'm not a sports fanatic (so this post isn't going under new sick/sad obsessions)! It's just a good night for a ballgame!

All right, so I'm digging up an old thread. But the Hurricanes are in the finals once again. Whoo hoo! Hopefully, they'll win tonight, putting them even in the battle for the Stanley Cup.
