Hi all! I'd like to ask what kind of musical genres appeal to you all the most. It doesn't have to be a single favourite, really. I like jazz a lot, as well as choral music and techno/dance/electronica. I also love my own homegrown music here in the Philippines, and, well, from my icon I guess you can gather I like Japanese pop music. I also appreciate classical music a great deal because my love for it paved the way for me to explore other musical genres. Hope y'all would take the time to answer this. Have a great day!

I don't think I've met a single person who didn't like Jazz. Love it. Kinda odd, but lately I've been listening to classical music. :/ It all started when I met a friend who plays in a philharmonics. Hehe. Funny how interests are sparked that way. Mostly NOT hard rock. I'm a wordsmith and like to hear lyrics. Oscar- I'm with you on the homegrown music. I lived in HI and they had awesome homegrown music. Am I correct that Japanese pop music is BIG production? I've watched a few concerts and there are so many people on stage, not just the main singer. Could be just what I watched though.

Jean: Raising hand. Not that fond of Jazz, myself, though I like the good stuff, and I was pretty partial to "Fusion" Jazz. I think it's my Classical background. I don't like too much atonality.
I prefer Classical/Chamber, "art" music (like opera) and Broadway!!!! Couldn't live without my musicals! Sixties bubblegum. Omg! I'm sure the younger people would flame that! And, even though it was looked down on even when it was popular, I still like disco.
I can do with most good music. I love anything with really good harmonies (loved Queen from the first moment I heard them for that).
I have to agree with Jean on the lyrics, too. Probably, those last two pieces, are why I love Broadway so much...lots of meaning and harmony involved.
