New thread on the new Star Trek movie.
Time to boldly go where no one has gone before..
again!
We are going to see it in Imax next Saturday as it's only on imax for 2 weeks!
Can't wait to see if Chris Pine can pull of James T. Kirk as well as William Shatner did in the 70's.
What is everyone else's thoughts?

Thanks for mentioning IMAX. I'm looking into tickets ...
I've heard so many good things about this movie. I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

I saw it Thursday night! ;D I loved most of what I saw. Kirk is fabulous! Quinto as Spock is totally convincing. Chekov is young and brainy. Sulu is a tad shy; I'm hoping to see him developed more. Ship designs are cool and the action is off the chart amazing. Only some minor quirks bothered me, like Scotty's whachyamacallit assistant and Uhura/Spock chemistry in public (too unVulcan). Overall, it definitely appeals to a new generation of Trek fans. I hope it sticks. There's a second movie already in the making. I'm looking forward to seeing where they take it.

I saw it at a regular theater.
The only added effects at an IMAX showing would be better sound and a larger screen. Tell me if I'm wrong.

I called. It's $15.00 a ticket in Denver...what is that, like $5.00 more than a regular movie?
We're gonna try to get to the Imax next Sat, but my nephew is in playing for the national trophy in Lacrosse...If his team makes it to the finals, there's no way, and it's only here through this weekend!
Sometimes it sucks living in the boonies!
