So Mark plays the voice of the prince in this particular movie.. and the prince loves to invent things. I had the biggest smile on my face.

I tried watching one of those Barbie movies...they are so bad that I couldn't even WAIT to find the prince, and wound up giving up on them.
Since when are the musketeers girls, anyway? Do they follow the real story?

No, not at all. Barbie (named Corrine in this movie) is the daughter of d'Artagnan, but that is the only reference to the musketeers at all.
I find the Barbie movies enjoyable. I guess I never grew out of the "I hope to find the love of my life" dream. I admit they are quite childish, but for some reason I like them. I own a couple, but that's a secret =)

It's not the "I hope to find the love of my life" dream that I object to...it's the terrible writing that bothers me. Maybe it's only the one. That, and the fact that all my 'girly girls' are all into Barbie and princesses. Drives me nuts! I wanna toss them a ball and a truck! (maybe, if I actually had a daughter, it wouldn't be so objectionable. Then again, maybe I'll give it another go.)

Hahaha, oh I totally understand. Trust me. I was very surprised that I didn't shut my DVD player off. I think I like the fantasy more than anything. The writing doesn't bother me as much because it's supposed to be suitable for kids at a certain age. Now if I saw something like Transformers and it had that type of writing, I'd slap myself. But I have a certain expectation of everything I read and watch, and the Barbie movies meets them. Or maybe I'm just biased to these because I love Mark's talents.

I know, I know, it's been 3 years...but I just watched this movie and laughed my head off during 1) the "inventor" scenes and 2) the Jacqueline-esque flips, etc. that Corinne and her friends did. And of course, the cheesiness of the rest of the movie...But as far as the "girls can't be musketeers" "oh yes they can!" idea goes, that actually made it palatable for me.
Does anyone know if the Young Blades-like parts were on purpose because of Mark Hildreth or if it's a coincidence? (not that I expect anyone to answer this...)
