New book i just picked up because i rented the movie from blockbuster...

'The Thief Lord' by Cornelia Funke
its a good book Oliver-twist-ish inverse-peterpan sort of thing set in venice. 2 orphaned brothers, gang of runaway children, thief-lord with a secret & a magical carousel

It is emmencely popular in germany where it was first published and then took england by storm now its becoming popular in the US too. I really enjoyed it.

The way I look at it, this world is growing a little too civilized for me. It's growing up. Growing serious. Growing dull. But out there, who knows what worlds await.
