Ok, my memory was piqued after reading the VS YB epi 1 when Siroc was inventing a better way to fight fires than the bucket brigade. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find the original reference I wanted to CW's (Colonial Williamsburg's) electronic field trip it did on the 18th century fire truck, but I googled and found a good reference, for those who are interested. www.hallofflame.org/Photo%20Gallery%20p2.htm Most of the photos and fire trucks shown are based off of a Dutchman's 1670 version, and were primarily unchanged throughout the 18th century and into the early 19th. I'm not sure how close it was to the one Siroc invented, but it gives you an idea on what other great minds were thinking about.
