We should see if we can get a roleplay game going. Why don't we give a brief account of our alter egos and have a bit of fun!
Madame Blanchet (real name unknown) is neither heroine nor villain, although she is an outlaw. Originally a young spy for Cardinal Richelieu, she is a self-proclaimed Jill of all Trades wherein her skill set rivals that of a master thief and assassin. She's wanted on several counts of murder, grand theft and arson (although how much of that is fabricated by her former courtly allies remains, of course, a mystery). Because she operates outside of the law, she is a blade for hire--for the right price, of course. Most of her employers are rich aristocrats who need certain people/objects to abruptly... disappear, although she is known to aid the musketeers should she feel inclined. As such, it is often difficult to simply slot her as good or evil.
The Madame is quite open about being a woman in a man's profession. She is theatrical to a fault, and as her name implies, always has some trick to pull out of the ridiculously oversized hat she wears that covers half her face. She does it all for the show, and has a flashy costume that comes with the flashy persona. Make no mistake, however, she is a dangerous professional despite her ludicrous performances. A thespian at heart and ever the opportunist, she is accustomed to using her environment around her and orchestrating a performance that can be as deadly as it is impressive.
Her weaknesses are her enormous ego, her penchant for theatrics, and a love of a riches. She is a gambling woman, and does not shy away from the thrill of danger.
Cheeky as she is, it should come as no surprise that she is right under the authority's nose! By night, she is Madame Blanchet but by day, she is Monsieur Gaspard Morrel, the humble and bespectacled Hatter who owns the shop down the street from the Cafe Noveau. Here, her acting talents and performance ingenuity come very much in handy for preserving her secret identity.
I figure, if we're all going on gender bending episodes, why not moi? And besides, we need a villain for all you heroic disguised female musketeers
