It's okay, my compy crashed and aside from commandeering a compy at the library, I haven't had internet until a few days ago when I finally got the desktop computer my grandpa was buying from a pawn shop out...

It is perfectly fine that you joined, the rules as I understand them are as followers You play as a caricter and control only your caricter's actions, exept if you're using a candid caricter such as Duval or Jaques to help a scene along. No one can try to play as if they are completely perfect or superior to anyone else. Be curious, be respectful. etc. That's all I can think of at the moment, why don't you tell us about your caricter and we can build her/him into the story.

Do you guys want to reboot the RP? There is a way we can formalize this RP to make sure it flows smoothly. I'm not sure how many of you are familiar a roleplaying game with a single Storyteller, but I'll explain this now. Feel free to reject this method if it is not to your tastes. This formal method of roleplaying entails that the only character you are responsible for playing is your own. The rest of the game is guided by a DM. For those of you not familiar with what a DM is, it is short for 'DungeonMaster,' a title borrowed from the Dungeons and Dragons games that now applies to almost all formal roleplaying games. He or she is basically the moderator who guides the story along and plays the non-player characters (NPC's). In our case, the NPC's would be the original cast. The role of the DM is to ensure that there is order, a coherant storyline, and everyone is playing fair (ie: no one is bending the game/story to further their interests). For example, say someone is playing a character that is apparently really good at everything. With him or her guiding the storyline, every bad guy the encounter is miraculously defeated and the player's character is essentially invincible. The DM's role, however, ensures that not every strike of the character's sword means instant defeat--sometimes that character misses, sometimes they are knocked over by their foe, etc. Essentially, it is about creating and playing within realistic boundaries. However, please note that the DM isn't some overseeing god of all story telling. They will not smite your characters just because they want something to go a certain way--they must operate within respectable and realistic boundaries as well. He or she is only there to ensure the story is pushed along and everyone plays fair and, as an added bonus, is able to create an element of realism. Ultimately, it is the player characters and their choices that directly impact the storyline and where it goes. Player characters can interact with one another and NPC's and expect realistic responses and consequences to their actions. This method may be a little more challenging because not everything is going to work out the way you'd like it to--but it brings in realism and the anticipation that you don't get from story-telling method of roleplaying. If anyone would like to try this method, please let me know, I'd love to get a game started here.

Isn't Zorro a Spanish hero? Actually, Zorro was Mexican. To be exact, he lived in Los Angeles, so, given current borders, that would make him American, but, of course, if you go by the last movie (with Antonio Banderas and Catherin Zeta-Jones...the second one) there is a tie-in to the musketeers. Christopher Walken was the owner of De la Fère winery in France...de la Fère...some sort of descendant of Athos? I LOVE being the only person in a crowded movie theater who gets the joke, rolling on the floor laughing out loud while everyone else stares at me ;D.
