The witness protection program was how they gave the youngest Lee son a way out of his mafia family. His older brother (who got Ryan's gun from the psychopath and murdered his younger brother's girlfriend) believed he saw his younger brother die...but he only faked dying. Ryan arranged for him to live a crime-free life under the witness protection program. I hope that made sense. At least that part of the episode was awesome. Earlier in the ep, Ryan said how his biggest rookie mistake was a case where he said a witness's name out loud in a room where the criminals heard it. He HAD to put the girl in the witness protection program because all the criminals knew her name. Maybe that will play out in a future ep.

OMG! This week was hysterical! I'm seeing shades of Dana Delaney...speaking of which, are you watching Body of Proof? (also excellent!) ...only more so.... I love the whole...she's jealous, but she won't stake her claim thing.
BTW, hasn't Jessica Tuck done an episode or two before? Or...am I confusing this with a guest stint she did on...Body of Proof?

Jessica Tuck was on Body of Proof, according to IDMb. This was her first guest star role on Castle. I imagine she won't be back unless she plays the same character, but who knows, anything can happen if the stage makeup is totally different. So did you see tonight's ep? Ghostbusters lines and music. Ha! The sad thing was the break up. Won't say who, 'cause I don't want to spoil it if you haven't seen the ep.

They haven't been posting the guests on Castle for the last few episodes (on Imdb) I had to look someone up, today, too. In fact, neither the actor I was looking up tonight, OR Jessica Tuck has Castle listed on THEIR pages! (Of course, she could always come back as her own evil twin....MORE evil twin. It's done all the time in Soap Operas!) "I ain't 'fraid o' no ghost!" And Kate's camping ghost story!!! OMG! Toooooo fun! Castle was such a WHIMP when they got into the house at night!!!! Squeamish over a rat, freaking out over the second rat, then..."I'm throwing away this coat!" All this, of course, after all but daring her to go into the haunted house at night.

Yeah. My poor son had to watch it with me (third time through) and he just couldn't stand me telling him to catch this joke or that line. He didn't get any of it! BTW, he tweeted that he thought he had all the dead guy stuff off the coat...ooops! There's another bone! I'm not sure who is doing the tweeting, but it's always entertaining.

That's hilarious about the tweet!
I guess it all feeds the fandom. Kinda makes you think Castle is real and out there doing his thing. I can't recall any other show adding that dimension or maybe it's just that I haven't paid attention.

I don't think this has ever been done before...the books, the whole persona that Rick actually exists. It's actually pretty fun. Yeah...feeds the fandom.
Íf you follow the twitter, there's always little hints about what the next episode is going to be about.

I enjoyed the fresh angle of last night's episode. Technically, the show did start with a murder, even if they didn't find Agnes until several commercial breaks in. I originally wondered how Beckett would get involved when the case wasn't a homicide. Writers did a great job with that. Of course the Castle/Beckett interaction was prime. But poor Alexis. So traumatized and Ashley blows off her phone call. No surprise where that went. Wow, the girl's had some hard knocks this season: first college, then her boyfriend. I wonder where writers will take her character?

I have two problems with tonight (one goes back to the beginning of this season).
1) I think they are moving too fast. They (the writers) are going to step over that line, and wreck the entire show.
2) Know what I hate? When a show hits it big, and the female lead is healthy (not too thin) and then, after a year or two, is suddenly looking anorexic. I think Stana is losing too much weight.
But OMG! It was a super episode! From the moment when Ryan and Esposito knocked on Agnes' door, to the telephathy between Beckett and Castle.

I agree about the weight thing.
On that same note, totally random different show, I noticed that with Major Kira on Deep Space 9. I'd never watched the show before and started to a few months back. She is significantly Barbie-dollish at the start of season two. On the opposite end of that scale is O'Brien. He's not only overweight, he's not a looker. Men get away with a lot more than women actors.

I have had to watch this episode four times, and still haven't deleted it....too many great, subtle, little things. Maybe it's because cable was so wacko last week that I couldn't watch more than twice through...Maybe I'm experiencing withdrawal.

Reviewing first episodes for the first time in 3 years...I had forgotten how funny the outset was! (I found a way to treat the withdrawal. ) Esposito: "A control freak like you? With something you can't control? This is gonna be better than shark week!" Beckett: "He's like a nine-year old on a sugar rush..." And the ultimate cool line: Castle: "It's too bad. It would'a been great." Beckett (right up to his ear) "You...have...no idea." Then struts away...Carrie Bradshaw had nothin' on that strut! Oh...just something that struck me the other day: Esposito? The name? Means handcuffs. Just sayin'...there are more in-jokes on this show that you can shake a fist at. I'm just noticing some.

I love that kind of layered writing. It shows the writers are not only creative, but that they love what they're doing. This week, how about the Elvis gigs on all three guys? ROFL Esposito: I'm Elvez.
