I thought Castle looked ridiculous in his Elvis costume, but...the three of them, the two detectives, shorter, and matching, flanking him...was hysterical! Have you read any of the books, yet? I'm on the third...it's...very, very funny!

Okay, so...rewatching the series from the very beginning...I'm on Season 2 Episode 2. There's this vic, and the murderer wrote a note on her face. And five minutes later, Castle is STILL ranting that the spelling/grammar was wrong! "Your out of time"... I can SO relate!

My first reaction to this episode:
Beckett had open heart surgery at the beginning of the season. She had this tiny little bullet scar...and that, very faint....really? She should have a scar running from her throat to the bottom of her sternum! They had her heart OUT of her body, massaging it, didn't they? That leaves a SCAR.

I thought that too. THAT'S the scar? Right. Didn't even think about the open heart surgery thing. What they really wanted to show was her skinny body...which looks WAY TOO THIN. I'm praying for her not to have anorexia issues.

Perhaps we should dedicate a separate category just for anorexic actresses. Been watching Hawaii 5-0? Grace Park is looking more and more drawn. I was holding out that maybe she was just made up that way, as her character was going through some really tough stuff...but that's over, and she still looks kinda gray. Especially around the eyes. Something not right there, either.
Been watching the early episodes of Castle, and...totally see the difference!

Okay, am I going deaf? Or was that just too difficult to hear? It reminded me of the X-files, where everything was always whispered, until there was some unexpected scream. I had to quit watching that one cause it kept my husband up!
And...HOW do you suppose Castle is going to explain where he was to Alexis and Martha?

And, I just caught an inconsistency: When they are trying to figure out how to manage with the handcuffs, Castle suggests they pick the lock with a bobby pin (like anyone actuallly uses them anymore!) Beckett: These are police handcuffs, you're not going to open them with a bobby pin.
Yet, in one of the first episodes, Castle opened her police cuffs with a generic key he put in his wallet. I wonder how difficult it is to get the key that'll open police cuffs.

Wow, Sue, you really pay attention to details! Too bad his wallet was taken. Maybe he could have whipped out his cuff opener. haha Tell the truth, did you see it coming? The cat? lol I laughed my head off at that. And I loved Castle's line about a Disney movie. Kate: Next time let's do it without the tiger. Castle:

Sometimes...been watching carefully, lately.
And been re-watching the early eps, so...fresh in my mind.
There were so many fun lines in this one...and expressions, but...Didn't you think the whole tiger thing was just a little too far-fetched? Even the way they explained it off...WHO stores a tiger in a basement in QUEENS? (And how would one have built a house of the period that one was built, with a fifteen foot high basement? You get about five feet down and you hit water!)

Oh, wait a minute before you write off the tiger in NY. animal.discovery.com/videos/fatal-attractions-a-tiger-in-harlem.htmlThe weird thing about it is that I was JUST talking to someone about it this week! Then they air this episode. I think the writers saw the news bit and HAD to use it. Never say never. Didn't think about the house thing. California writer. lol Or maybe that's why it was a foreclosure.

Okay, that guy was a drugged out felon. He was probably like the end of the line for the tiger!
Queens just doesn't seem likely. I sure wasn't expecting it when Castle stuck his head in the other room. Nor was anyone else, I'm sure...thus, the surprise factor.
I remember, many years ago, hearing an interview with one of the writers from LA Law...the interviewer asked where they come up with the ideas for their plots...he answered..."the newspapers. Nothing is better than reality. You can't WRITE stuff that's better than what is really happening."

Opening scene: Almost straight from the beginning of Heat Wave. Wow! Castle's imagination is running even more wild than usual. More wild theories. I love the one where he's weaving a story, Beckett is just sitting there, "Oh that is ridiculous!" written all over her face, and then, when he finishes, she says: "I can't think of anything better!" As if it's a competition. That Israeli flight attendant...Can't figure out where she's supposed to be FROM, but that ain't no Israeli accent! (Nor anything else I've ever heard! She switches from generic Arabic to French to I have no idea...) Castle makes up a new word in the middle of the episode: "sexpionage", then finds EVERY excuse to use it...lol. It's kinda cute how the whole "plus one" plot resolves so nicely.

Ooh, didn't know that about Heat Wave and the opening scene. Nice. Yeah, I though it was odd for Beckett to say, "I can't think of anything better." I thought she was humoring him. lol She enjoys his crazy idea rants. I thought the same thing about that accent. I know people from Israel. That was...? Good question. Okay, we'll have to look for Castle's new word next ep. Fun stuff! The whole "plus one" line is now embedded into my vocab. I loved it.

By the way: it seems every person Seamus Dever has ever worked with had a bit part in that.
Oh, I'm pretty sure sexpionage won't show up again. At least not for a while...it was definitely situation-specific...it was just fun to see him keep finding ways to use it. Over and over.
You haven't heard the "plus one" thing before? I first learned it on a Sex in the City episode. If I remember correctly, that was the title. I have to admit, I figured Beckett would have guessed Castle's date was Alexis, before he said it. I had it before he even started describing her.

Is it just me or is Beckett already talking like they're an item. "Third time may be the charm," and the mention of "You want to know my number?"
