Yeah, I thought the new one would air this week, too. They usually don't show previews two weeks off. And the ep that aired was one I just re-watched.

I know! How many new eps have even been aired in the last two months? Like...two? What's the deal?

Got to love the reactions Castle gave: When Ryan says he can drive the car, and when Esposito compliments him on his theory...Like a puppy that got a pat on the head. Just too funny!

Enjoyed that episode, which I didn't get to watch right away. Wow, they're auctioning off the blue butterfly necklace! Thanks for sharing that link. Too funny, Castle is creating a bit of fandom paraphernalia.

Wow! The Jennifer Beals character! His first muse! Really funny, watching Beckett stand there, silent, watching the "ping-pong" of Castle and Sofia finishing each others' sentences. The twists and turns just kept me on the edge of my seat all episode! And that ending!!!!

45 minutes later...wow...sort of ends (problem solved) with a bit of a whimper...except for that last pronouncement by Sofia. Hmmmmmmm.

At first I thought Sofia's character would overshadow Becket's too much by her wow appeal as Castle's earlier study and higher office of CIA agent. However, by making Sofia a sleeper agent for the KGB and having her behind the Pandora plan, it only lent more weight to the Castle and Becket relationship/partnership/thing (lol).
I loved Kate's final words when Castle asked if Sofia had been telling him the truth about why his father disappeared. Kate said, "I think Sofia told a lot of lies." First in my mind was how Sofia told Kate that she wished they'd never slept together, that it ruined the tension between them because they had noting else. I think Sofia lied to put a wrench in Kate's mind about Castle.
Point made: Kate and Rick have a lot going for them outside of sleeping together. That's been the build up for the entire past two seasons: they're bonding is so many other ways than just their attraction to one another.
I'd like to see them marry first (Disney-like) to fly in the face of Rick's prior attractions/sex-based marriages, but we'll see how Hollywood writes it.

I am absolutely certain this is not the last we are going to hear about Castle's father. I figure he'll probably ask Martha in the next episode or two, and she probably knows something. It could add a new dimension to their relationship. "First in my mind was how Sofia told Kate that she wished they'd never slept together, that it ruined the tension between them because they had noting else. I think Sofia lied to put a wrench in Kate's mind about Castle." Oh, yeah! You could just see the gears turning...she's gonna be thinking about that for a LONG time! And there has been a lot of jealousy...and denial of it...in these two episodes. Beckett: “Have there been others?” “Women?” Castle responds, in an absurd tone. Beckett: "Muses.” [This is pretty funny, because when he first referred to her as his muse, she threatened to break both his legs if he said it ever again…now she is referring to both herself and Sofia as his muses.] A little later, in the morgue, Beckett is still going on about it, sounding awfully jealous: “Sleep with as many women as you like. The more the merrier!” Lanie shoots a meaningful glance, and they realize that Alexis is standing right behind them. Awkward looks all around! “And I thought the dead bodies was gonna be the grosses part!” Also: Thought I'd put this out there: Jon Huertas posted something last week that there are bound to be more roadblocks tossed between them – and he said not a romantic involvement with another party or parties – before they can get together. This fueled my imagination and I came up with a bunch of possible scenarios. I’m looking forward to seeing how close I came to what the writers come up with.

Don't forget, Sofia brought up Castle's research on Kate's mother on his computer screen. Yep, that's gonna blow up before it blows over.

Oooh! I forgot about that scene!
Another couple of great lines I thought I'd mention:
Esposito: "I used to be special forces. I used to eat classified for breakfast. And yet, "writer boy" can know!?"

Though I expected the fairytale theme to play into the criminal more, the plot did have good twists. Brother finds camera with pictures. Frames guilty. Guiltiest of all silences accomplices. And nice gesture at the end, though my captioning pooped out and I don't know what was said. I'll have to visit the website and hope it's on the original recording.
