ROFL! Just checked the captioning.
Martha: ...If only Richard had embraced the role of son.
Castle: and into the woods we go.

Oh...I thought the line about going into the woods (and it carried right from the beginning of the episode, really) before, while still at the pct. was even better:
Beckett: Speaking of... Castle: Psychopaths, or actors? Beckett: I was thinking 'bout your mom. Castle: Oh, so a little of both. Beckett: I think we can make the play. Castle: Really? So you want to venture into the dark, scary woods. Beckett: Don't worry, Castle. I got a gun. I'll protect you from the big, bad wolf. Castle: You'd use your gun on my mother? I'm touched. Thank you. Beckett's look, there is priceless.
I'm guessing they wanted to go a little lighter this week, after two weeks of such heavy subject. I was laughing the whole episode...it was just too much fun!

Yes, the look on Beckett's face was priceless about his mom. What I meant by play the fairytale up more was that I thought they'd make it larger than life instead of just something the girls attended. But Castle did hypothesize down that path. Beckett said it sounded too grounded for Castle. And he replies. "I know, I'm disappointed in myself." Or something like that. Light and fun is always good. That's why I loved Young Blades.

Yeah...another one of the better lines.
And, I thoroughly enjoyed the lightness...it was about time. Been kinda heavy this Winter.

I think most of reality television is a complete waste of time! (Dancin' with the Stars is an exception)

What made me laugh was that it took me a few seconds to get that it was Castle that was on. The transition from Dancing With the Stars was so smooth I missed it. lol Nicely done!
They did a great job making it hard to guess who the murdered dancer really was. Another "nicely done".
Oh, and Martha made Rick read the reviewer's manuscript!! Did you see how thick it was? Yikes! Rick: "For you, mother, I can be nice." lol

I have been trying to think of anything interesting to post...I'm going with the secondary story: Ryan and the wedding ring. He has "the stink...of honeymoon phase." The whole thing...getting it stuck on Esposito's finger...unable to get it off, until Beckett, miracle worker that she is, pulls out hand cream (it's true. When even soap doesn't work, hand cream does), and then it goes shooting across the precinct, and Ryan has to go find it. He must have stayed awfully late, looking for that!

Okay, only halfway through the episode, and...this is great, but...what is with the leather jacket? Castle doesn't look like himself in leather! That's Beckett's thing!
Oh, and why does Mr. Scotland Yard, from East End London have an Australian accent?

Noooooo! Such a sad episode...development...thing. Half way through and it felt more like "Beckett" than "Castle". He was hardly in the show! It was all Kate's POV. So odd. You are right about him playing more the cop role. When he wheels out the white board and explains how they will get the fingerprints, then Mr. Scotland Yard and Kate walk in dressed for the posh party, the role reversal was very evident. Shame on Castle, where was his ticket into this big event? It's not like him to be left on the outside. Sorry, I'm a romantic. I don't like the cold-shoulder development.

Castle couldn't get them into the British consulate event...he doesn't have those connections. His connections are mostly within the US.
Cold-shoulder? I'm seeing a repeat of the end of season 2, when Kate took off with Demming, and Castle took off with Gina. It's just a bump. I have a little inside info...But Castle's scheme to get the fingerprints was almost a throwback to the first season, when he almost took on James Bond. I just LOVE the whole...rappelling down the building with the gymnast in the duffle bag thing! LOL.
And WHAT was that with letting some chick he doesn't even KNOW drive off in his Ferrarri? Remember when Beckett drove? She had to steal his keys!
This Mr. Scotland Yard is awfully yummy, though!
Oh, and HAVE to LOVE Charles Shaunessy's appearance!
