Yes. And poor Marian wound up in it. LOL And then, the newlyweds at the end, too. I wonder if d'Artagnan watches her so much at the beginning because he thinks she may be lying still? Maybe hiding something. Just a thought. Yes... in episode one.. I think that is why he watching... he was wanting 'him' to be lying... but then his 'male' instincts took over..reguardless of how she's proven she can take care of herself... guys still have that in built 'protective' must take care of thing.

I have a question.
If the show had the chance to continue and conclude with a second season, how do you think D/J would get together? What are your theories?

Hmmm...
I don't know... depending on if they KNEW the 2nd season was the last, or it would go more.
If it was the last, I think maybe... if it would go on for more...then I think the ship would have progressed, but not to that point.

Knowing how TV tends to go, there would be plenty of angst. J and D would get thrown into tense situations that would cause them to realize the other's worth to them. Or at least J would come to grips with that. D would show his maturity and nobility, but perhaps work harder on deserving that kiss from Secrets.
Eventually, one of them would slip, admitting how they felt about the other. That would be a turning point, but not necessarily the end of the season. The end of the season would be a major resolve point or cliff hanger for the overall cast. Last eps always draw a dark picture if they think there's a next season. But if they thought it was the end, they'd make it a lighter ep. I really think they were trying to lighten ep 13 for that reason. J & D's characters just weren't ripe for 'it' yet.

Hahaha, the "ripe" thing that's just great, As far as J and D'art getting together in season two we all know that as long as J is a musketeer and D'art's "Image" holds nothing can really happen, I suppose there could've been a point after a long while where D'art would just come out and propose, although that did happen in "four musketeers and a baby" only J wasn't ready or susceptible to it, nor was she as attached to him as she is now. Likewise we all know the j is just to proud and strong minded to just give up her position as a musketeer and defender of France just so she can peruse a relationship with him. and if she did she would probably end up miserable or dead..seeing as she's not been pardoned yet. One more thing I see them both as almost reluctant to actually get involved too deep, mostly J, and I don't blame her if she did try it and it failed it would ruin her, she would most likely be exposed if a failed relationship ocoured. Yes I know there was that one thing with Charles, but he wasn't even french and he didn't actually know her secret he couldn't expose her quite like D'art could. Any way my point with this bit is, they would need some nudging which would probably come from Ramon and Seroc, which would mean that before anything could happen we would have to be sure that they knew/found out.

True...
and we all know... at some point, her 'secret' won't be a secret... and she'll have to give up being a musketeer... so, when that happens... D'Art would prob make a move and Jac would probably accept.

That's possible but that would be where the series ended, once she's not a musketeer anymore the show is more or less dead, I think that's what they were trying to do with the secrets over plot.

I've been trying to decide whether or not to weigh in on this discussion. I think something traumatic would have to happen to bring them completely together, but, like parazesis, I believe that couldn't have happened AND the show go on. That's why, even though the writers weren't ready for it, they sort of wrapped things up the way they did.

personally... they didn't wrap it up enough for me...
I wish they'd at least try to do a a 2 to4 hour movie type thing and wrap it up a bit more...like Farscape.

If there was a season 2, I would've liked to see more banter, more roller-coaster up and downs in their relationship. Admittedly, I think their relationship had progressed rather quickly in the series as it was. You could definitely see more than just a smidgen there between them; there was little guesswork as to the canon 'ship' here.
And I agree, a movie-type ending would have wrapped things up more, but alas! looks like we're just destined to continue writing our own conclusions to the series to get our satisfaction.
For anyone who has been in direct communication with the actors, and/or writers, have you been able to squeeze out even an idea of what season two might've been like? What the cross meant? etc, etc.
On a different note, I'd like to point out something that has been bothering me for some time with d'Artagnan. I find that when it comes to fanfics, he, along with Ramon, are the least explore. D'Artagnan usually plays the second half of the J/D relationship, but besides his obvious soft-spot for Jacqueline, there's obviously a lot more to him.
Anyone wanna try and attempt a character sketch of our favourite cavalier? What about his history? Jean gave a small peak into his childhood with her story, "My Father, Legend at Large" but what about d'Artagnan all growed up? How did he get into the musketeers?
Also, anyone wonder if he has a higher ranking than the other three? If I'm not mistaken, Siroc, LePonte and Ramon are referred to as 'private' but d'Artagnan? He's kind of like the defacto leader for them. I wonder if he got promoted to corporal.
